Monday, October 26, 2015 AHEAD IN WEEK 9Saturday, Oct. 31 Butler at Marist, Noon Campbell at Davidson, 1 p.m. Drake at Morehead State, 1 p.m. Jacksonville at Dayton, 1 p.m. San Diego at Stetson, 1 p.m. Off Week: Valparaiso LEAGUE NOTESHalloween promises plenty of tricks and treats across the PFL… The biggest treat will be served in Ohio when unbeaten Dayton hosts a Jacksonville squad that was just knocked from the unbeaten ranks… It is the first of back-to-back games Dayton will play against one-loss PFL squads, with Morehead State waiting for a Week 10 matchup… Speaking of Morehead State, the Eagles return to action and will seek to remain among the one-loss squads while avoiding a Drake trick in Week 9… San Diego returns to PFL play with a cross-country trip to Stetson, the second-straight Florida opponent it will face after hosting Warner in Week 8… The league’s two Tar Heel State members will square off in their eighth meeting all time when Campbell travels upstate to Davidson… The league’s Week 9 action starts when Butler faces off against Marist in a matchup of the league’s two 2-2 squads… Dayton is now one of five unbeaten FCS squads (Coastal Carolina, Dartmouth, Harvard and McNeese State) left after eight weeks of play… The PFL’s defenses accumulated 28 sacks and 21 turnovers (10 fumbles recovered, 11 interceptions) in Week 8… PFL defenses now have 99 interceptions this season in 79 team games played (1.25 interceptions per game)… Drake linebacker John Hugunin was named the STATS FCS National Defensive Player of the Week, the fourth PFL student-athlete to receive STATS FCS National weekly honors. |
