    OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    Austin Gahafer, Morehead St.

    Gahafer passed for four touchdowns and caught another in Morehead State’s 43-40 loss at VMI, Saturday. The junior signal-caller’s 447 passing yards were the most in the PFL since his 458-yard outing at Valparaiso in 2013. Gahafer completed 35-of-62 passes for four touchdowns. He also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass that gave Morehead State a 40-33 lead in the fourth quarter.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    John Hugunin, Drake

    Hugunin had 2½ tackles for loss, including a sack that resulted in a safety, in Drake’s 21-18 loss at North Dakota, Saturday. He finished the game with six tackles (four solo) and led a defensive unit that shutout UND in the second half while limiting it 25 rushing yards for the game. Hugunin’s safety started Drake’s fourth-quarter burst that brought it three points shy of tying the game. He also had a pair of fumbles forced, including one that snuffed out a North Dakota drive and helped Drake flip field position, ultimately leading to his safety.

    SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Bohnert’s punting was crucial to help Drake’s comeback bid in a 21-18 loss at North Dakota, Saturday. He punted 11 times for a school-record 438 yards (39.8 yards per punt), including a 52-yard boot. Four of his punts ended inside the North Dakota 20-yard line, the most important to start the fourth quarter. Bohnert’s 35-yard punt pinned the Bison on their five-yard line and three plays later linebacker John Hugunin’s sack in the end zone resulted in a safety. Six of his punts went for more than 40 yards, including a 52-yard punt he uncorked in the fourth quarter. Bohnert also kicked off three times, his on-side kick late in the game being mishandled by UND before going out of bounds.
