NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following its 2019 Pioneer Football League championship, San Diego has been selected No. 24 in the 2019 Athlon Sports FCS Preseason Top 25. Additionally, Toreros wide receiver Michael Bandy was named to the publication's 28-man Preseason FCS All-America Team.

San Diego won the 2018 PFL title outright with its third consecutive unblemished 8-0 mark. It was the Toreros 10th PFL crown, all coming since the 2005 campaign (14-season span). San Diego also has won two opening round contests in the NCAA Division I Football Championship in the past three seasons.

Bandy was a three-time First-Team FCS All-American last season (STATS, Associated Press and Walter Camp).He enjoyed breakout junior season, finishing the regular season ranked first in the FCS in receiving yards (1,427) and receiving yards per game (142.7), second in receiving touchdowns (14) and fifth in total touchdowns (14).
