CHICAGO – Morehead State junior quarterback Austin Gahafer was named STATS National FCS Offensive Player of the Week after his performance at VMI in Week 2.

The junior signal-caller’s 447 passing yards were the most in the PFL since his 458-yard outing at Valparaiso in 2013 and he completed 35-of-62 passes for four touchdowns. In addition, he also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass that gave Morehead State a 40-33 lead in the fourth quarter.

Gahafer, who has 5,890 passing yards and 40 touchdown passes in his career, becomes the first PFL player this season and first since Jacksonville’s Kade Bell in Week 11 last season to earn national recognition.
