Dayton and Jacksonville both opened their home schedules with wins, but the rest of the PFL suffered disappointment in Week 3. Dayton's win against Robert Morris was its 400th consecutive game with a score, extending its own NCAA record. Jacksonville extended the FCS' longest home winning streak to 15 games with its win against Webber International.

BOSTON, Mass. – Quarterback Mason Mills set PFL records for passes completed and attempted, but San Diego could not hold onto a halftime lead in a 28-13 non-conference loss, Saturday, at Harvard Stadium. Mills completed 38-of-63 passes for 354 yards and his 25-yard touchdown pass to Logan Smith put the Toreros up 13-7 at halftime. Harvard was held to one tocuhdown until the fourth quarter when they scored three times, including a 66-yard run by Treavor Scales. San Diego's Brandon White caught 12 passes for 135 yards – one of 10 receivers Mills found on the day.

NEW YORK – Columbia's Wells Childress blocked Marist's Jason Myers game-tying PAT in the fourth quarter and Columbia held on for a 10-9 non-conference win, Saturday, at Wien Stadium. The Red Foxes thought they had the game-winning score in hand when quarterback Chuckie Looney found tight end Anthony Calcagni for a 76-yard touchdown strike, but it was called back on a holding penalty and the drive was later ended on an interception. Looney completed 20-of-30 passes for 293 yards and a touchdown, finding wideout Armani Martin five times for 104 yards in reception yardage. Marist outgained Columbia, 314-255, but suffered 10 penalties.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville extended the FCS' longest home winning streak to 15 games with a 33-10 non-conference victory against Webber International, Saturday, at D.B. Milne Field. Dolphins' quarterback Kade Bell found wideout Aaron Riley for a 26-yard touchdown strike to open the game's scoring with 10:36 remaining in the first quarter. Jacksonville did the bulk of its damage in the second quarter, scoring 19 points on two touchdown passes and two field goals. Jacksonville's Bell and back-up quarterback Trevius Folston combined to completed 29-of-51 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns. Bell was 9-of-18 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns in less than two full quarters of action. The Dolphins defense held Webber International to 116 yards total offense.

DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton's Matt Pfleger intercepted a pass with 1:40 remaining to secure a 20-14 non-conference victory against Robert Morris, Saturday, at Welcome Stadium. The win also was the Flyers 400th consecutive game with a score, extending its own NCAA record. Dayton running back Taylor Harris returned from a knee injury in the season opener and carried the ball 19 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He anchored a running attack that accounted for 172 of the Flyers 247 offensive yards.

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State scored the games first 17 points but St. Francis (Pa.) stormed back to grab a 57-23 non-conference victory, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium. Quarterback Zach Lewis completed touchdown passes of 94 and 13 yards to put the Eagles up 17-0 after one quarter and they held a 23-14 lead at halftime. However, the Red Flash scored 21 points in the third quarter and tacked on 22 more points in the fourth to pull away. St. Francis running back Keion Wade did they heavy lifting all day, carrying the ball 27 times for 243 yards and three touchdowns, and the Red Flash finished the game with a dominating 457 rushing yards on 66 rush attempts. Lewis led Morehead State with a 31-of-53 passing performance for 364 yards and two touchdowns, but the Red Flash intercepted four passes.

VALPARAISO, Ind. – Valparaiso led 17-7 after the first quarter, but could not slow Duquesne which posted a 45-17 non-conference win, Saturday, at Brown Field. Quarterback Eric Hoffman led the Crusaders on a 13-play, 77-yard touchdown drive, which he capped with a one-yard touchdown burst. On the ensuing Duquesne drive, Valpariso recovered a fumble to set up a quick two-play, 40-yard drive that ended when Hoffman found wideout Mike Gerton for an eight-yard touchdown and a 17-7 lead. That would be the Crusaders final score as Duquesne scored the game's final 38 points. Hoffman completed 22-of-38 passes for 224 yards with pass completions to nine different receivers.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Drake jumped out to a 10-7 first-quarter lead but could not hold on and fell 27-10 at nationally-ranked Indiana State, Saturday, in non-conference action at Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs were unable to find an answer for Sycamores running back Shakir Bell who ran for 349 yards on 33 carries and had a pair of third-quarter touchdowns that broke the game open. Drake quarterback Mike Piatkowski completed 31-of-53 passes for 329 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs valiantly attempted to comeback in the second half but saw three drives end when they turned the ball over on downs – they were 1-of-4 on fourth-down conversions in the contest – and a fourth drive was stopped on a Sycamores interception.

NORFOLK, Va. – Quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw for 486 yards and set an Old Dominion record with seven touchdown throws in a 70-14 non-conference victory against Campbell, Saturday, at S.B. Ballard Stadium. The nationally-ranked Monarchs scored 28 points in the first quarter and never looked back. Campbell added two second-quarter touchdowns – courtesy running back Kurt Odom's three-yard run and quarterback Dakota Wolf's 27-yard run – but was held to 270 offensive yards against Old Dominion's 782-yard night. Wolf led the Fighting Camels with 22 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown while adding an 8-of-16 passing effort for 56 yards.

HANOVER, N.H. – Butler won the statistical battle but could not capitalize in a 35-7 loss to Dartmouth, Saturday, at Memorial Field. The Bulldogs offense out-gained the Big Green, 416-358, and won time of possession, 32:13-27:47, but those advantages did not make their way to the scoreboard. Dartmouth opened the game with Miles Gay returning the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. The Big Green scored on their second possession of the contest, D. Pierre capping a nine-play, 76-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown run. Butler would break up the shutout bid when quarterback Matt Lancaster found Derek O'Connor for a five-yard touchdown score. The Bulldogs saw two promising drives stopped by fumbles before seeing their final three drives end with the ball being turned over on downs. Lancaster completed 25-of-35 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown, with the bulk of that going to O'Connor who finished the game with nine receptions for 194 yards and a touchdown.
