DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson scored 21 points in the first quarter but could not overcome a 27-21 halftime deficit and fell to Barton College, Friday night in the final home opener at Richardson Stadium. Coulter Cleland led Davidson on three scoring drives in the first frame, with a touchdown throw to Sam Hedrick and scoring runs by Sam Valor and Mason Sheron to build a 21-7 halftime lead. But Barton College scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 27-21 lead into halftime. Davidson's Mason Sheron helped give the Wildcats the lead with a one-yard touchdown run that was the third quarter's only score. Wildcats kicker Adam Zouagui extended the lead to four points with his 35-yard field goal in the fourth quater. But Barton College responded with a 83-yard touchdown drive then intercepted a pass on Davidson's final drive to secure the win. Cleland completed 10-of-20 passes for 142 yards while Mari Adams ran for 115 yards on 19 carries.
