Morehead State 37, West Virginia State 35
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Caleb Ramseur's 10-yard touchdown run with 9:11 remaining proved to be the winning touchdown as Morehead State held off West Virginia State, 37-35, Thursday night at Jayne Stadium. Leading by three points entering the fourth quarter, Morehead State pieced together a 9-play, 78-yard drive, capped by Ramseur's score, to build a nine-point advantage after a missed extra point kick. West Virginia State rallied with a drive that needed just 2:54 to find the end zone, slashing the Eagles lead to two points, 37-35. However, Morehead State recovered the ensuing squib kick with 6:17 remaining in the game and used an 11-play drive to run the clock out. Morehead State quarterback Carter Cravens completed 21-of-32 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns, including back-to-back touchdown throws in the second quarter to give MSU a 24-7 lead. Ramseur led the Eagles with 119 all-purpose yards, including 68 yards in kick returns.

Youngstown State 52, Valparaiso 10
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Ryan Mann's touchdown run just before halftime put Valparaiso within sight of host Youngstown State but the Penguins held the Beacons scoreless in the second half to secure a 52-10 victory Thursday night at Stambaugh Stadium. Mann, who finished with 40 rushing yards, scored on a two-yard rush with 31 seconds left in the first half to trim Youngstown State's lead to 17-10. After the break, Youngstown State blocked a Valparaiso punt on the opening drive and scored then used that momentum to score on five of their seven drives in the half. Vaparaiso quarterback Mikey Appel completed 17-of-29 passes with no interceptions for 155 yards to lead the Beacons.
