CLEVELAND, Ohio – Morehead State Director of Athletics Brian Hutchinson has been appointed President of the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) for 2013-14.

Hutchinson will lead the organization as it seeks to enhance all aspects of FCS football. He served as first vice-president in 2012-13 and has been in the group's officer rotation for the past three years.

"Our association continues to be at the forefront of FCS initiatives and accomplishments, and I look forward to continuing the momentum that (Past President) Ron Strollo (of Youngstown State) built during the past year," Hutchinson said.

The FCS, formerly Division I-AA, has been in existence since 1978 with the name change prior to the 2006 season. The FCS playoffs are expanding to 24 teams in 2013. The Pioneer Football League, which Morehead State is a member of, will receive its first automatic berth this season.

Hutchinson also serves on the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee and NCAA Football Issues Committee. Among its duties, the Football Championship Committee selects the field and bracket for the FCS playoffs.

"It's an honor to represent Morehead State and the Pioneer Football League on these committees," Hutchinson added. "I'm looking forward to working with some of the nation's top FCS athletic administrators."

Now in its 20th year, the FCS ADA's mission is to enhance the FCS. The FCS ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 49th year.

Hutchinson has served as MSU's director of athletics since 2004. He previously served on several NCAA committees, including the Division I Recruiting and Personnel Issues. He has also served as chair of the Ohio Valley Conference Board of Directors of Athletics.
