PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE

Ryan Alexander, Davidson

Alexander played just 2� quarters but was the difference maker as Davidson romped for a 48-17 victory against Valparaiso. He completed 15-of-20 passes for 343 yards and four touchdowns. Alexander had 307 yards passing at halftime. Alexander�s 343 yards passing are the 15th best single-game mark by a I-AA passer this season

DEFENSE
Brandon Torre, Jacksonville
Senior, Linebacker

Torre was instrumental in leading the Dolphins to their first win of the 2005 season � a 55-21 victory against Butler. He led the Dolphins with nine tackles (eight solo), forced two fumbles and blocked an extra point attempt. Torre is now 57 tackles away from setting Jacksonville�s career tackles mark of 266.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Jordan Bontrager, Drake

For the second consecutive week, a Drake player earns the league�s special team�s honor. This week, Bontrager returned six punts for 98 yards (16.7 ypr), including a 60-yard punt return just 2:10 into the game for the Bulldogs first score. That effort set the tone for a Drake 54-0 romp over visiting Austin Peay. He later added an interception on defense.
