San Diego�s Josh Johnson threw a game-winning touchdown with 6:37 remaining in the fourth quarter, then tacked on a two-point conversion toss for insurance as USD recorded the PFL�s first-ever victory against the Ivy League in a 17-14 victory against Yale. Johnson completed 22-of-34 passes for 198 yards.

Drake�s Scott Phaydavong didn�t record a touchdown, but his 28 carries for 234 yards set up four touchdowns as Drake picked up its first-ever victory against Wisconsin-Platteville, 37-14. The 234 yards rushing are the third-most by a I-AA back in a single game this season. HIs first-half totals of 17 carries and 176 yards were the 10th best performance in I-AA for a single-game.

The Pioneers must have thought that Drake�s James Adams was everywhere as the linebacker recorded 13 tackles (6 solo), including a tackle for loss, forced a fumble, which he then recovered and ran back 28 yards and then tacked on a 35-yard interception return for touchdown in Drake�s dominant victory against Wisconsin-Platteville.

Drake�s Ryan Horvath put together the seventh-best punting performance in I-AA this season, booming four punts for a 50.8 yard-per-punt average (203 total yards). All four punts were over 50 yards and two were placed inside the 20-yard line. Horvath added a 20-yard field goal and was 4-4 on PATS, accounting for seven points in Drake�s home-opening victory.
