(Dominguez HS) Normally San Diego�s blocking back, Polk got a shot at the limelight, stepping in for injured halfbacks JT Rogan and Kevin Herron. He responded with 17 carries for 69 yards and a school-record four touchdowns. His 24 points were more than half of USD�s total output in a 42-35 non-conference victory. DEFENSE Alex Arinsmier, Davidson Senior, Linebacker Cincinnati, Ohio (Oak Hills HS) Arinsmier led all players with 16 tackles (7 solo), including a sack to lead Davidson to a 10-3 non-conference victory at Georgetown. It is the third time this year Arinsmier has posted 16 tackles in a game and the fifth-straight game in which he had at least double-digit tackles. CO-SPECIAL TEAMS Jonathon Thrasher, Davidson Freshman, Punter Snow Camp, N.C. (Southern Alamance HS) Thrasher punted seven times for 305 yards (43.6 ypp) to help win a game of field position at Georgetown. With only four punts prior to the season finale, he pinned Georgetown inside its own 10-yard line three times. He also kicked a 67-yard punt � second-longest in the PFL this season � in the fourth quarter when it mattered most. � AND � Joe Blahowicz, Valparaiso Senior, Punter Buffalo, N.Y. (Erie CC) In another defensive struggle, Blahowicz punted five times for 229 yards (45.8 ypp), placing two inside the opposition�s 20-yard line. He booted a PFL season-best 68-yard punt. |
