Butler, 56-10 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSE Josh Johnson, San Diego Sophomore, Quarterback Oakland, Calif. (Oakland Tech) Johnson played just one half of San Diego�s 63-31 PFL North romp over Valparaiso but put together an impressive 20-for-26, 345-yard, seven-touchdown performance. He is only the second player in I-AA to throw for seven touchdowns (Grambling�s Bruce Eugene has thrown for seven TDs twice this season), tying the San Diego and PFL record, held by USD alumnus Eric Rasmussen. His 345 yards passing is 37th best for a single-game in I-AA this season. Senior wideout Adam Hannula was Johnson�s favorite target, catching 10 passes for 172 yards, including four touchdowns. DEFENSE Mark Johnson, San Diego Sophomore, Defensive Back Coto de Caza, Calif. (Santa Margarita HS) Johnson became only the second I-AA player this season to run an interception back 100-yards for a touchdown and in doing so tied the NCAA and San Diego record for an interception return as USD defeated Valparaiso, 63-21. He also added five tackles (three solo), including a tackle for loss. SPECIAL TEAMS Nick Ruhe, Dayton Junior, Wide Receiver Ottawa, Ohio. (Ottawa-Glandorf HS) Ruhe returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown, one of the three punts he returned for an average of 33.7 yards a return (101 yards total).
