Butler 20, Davidson 17
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Kicker Drew Bevelheimer's 29-yard field goal with three seconds remaining delivered Butler its first PFL win, 20-17, against Davidson, Saturday at Richardson Stadium.

Both teams left the outcome at the feet of their respective kickers in the final 15-plus minutes. Davidson kicker Trevor Smith gave his squad a 17-14 lead at the end of the third quarter with a 27-yard field goal. Bevelheimer leveled the score with an 18-yard boot halfway into the fourth quarter, prior to his game-winning boot.

Butler quarterback Malcolm Weaver was a bigger threat with his legs as he ran for 110 yards on six carries, including a 90-yard scamper that tied the game, 14-14, five minutes into the second half. He completed just 6-of-14 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.

Davidson signal caller Stockton McGuire completed 21-of-34 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns. He opened the day with a 74-yard aerial touchdown to Cam Cheuvront and pushed Davidson to a 14-0 lead with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Nick Nolting.

Dayton 36, Jacksonville 16
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dayton suffered through a scoreless first quarter, but delivered 27 points in the second frame to secure a 36-16 PFL victory against Jacksonville, Saturday, at D.B. Milne Field.

Jacksonville scored the first quarter's only points when kicker Javier Arce-Ramirez hit a 25-yard field goal. The Dolphins kep the Flyers off the board in the first but could not overcome a pair of turnovers in the second quarter.

Dayton broke through early in the second quater when Alex Jeske found Matt Tunnacliffe for a nine-yard touchdown pass to take the lead. The Flyers got the ball right back when Jacksonville fumbled on the kickoff return, Jeske needed just three plays to cash in the miscue handing the ball to Tucker Yinger for a touchdown just 61 seconds after their first score.

The Flyers hit again in back-to-back fashion just before the second half ended. Jeske found Adam Trautman for a 15-yard touchdown. The Dolphins again fumbled on the ensuing kickoff return and two plays later Jeske hit Jack Euritt for a 15-yard touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Jeske completed 16-of-26 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Flyers kicker William Will connected on three field goals in the second half, becoming the first PFL kicker to convert 50 or more career field goals.

Jacksonville quarterback Rylan Wells completed 7-of-16 passes for 127 yards – 78 of that comping on a touchdown pass to Pernell Rattray in the third quarter.

Marist 44, Morehead State 41 in overtime
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Quarterback Mike White threw five touchdown passes, including a 32-yard game-winner in overtime, to lead Marist to a 44-41 PFL victory against Morehead State, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium.

Marist scored 17 consecutive points to build a 10-point lead early in the third quarter. The Red Foxes tied the game late in the first quarter when White hit Juston Chrstian for a 75-yard touchdown. Kicker Mike Maccarone added a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter for a 17-14 advantage. Marist would build its 10-point lead early in the third frame when White hit Lawrence Dickens for a 28-yard touchdown and a 24-14 lead.

After the teams traded the next four touchdowns, pushing the score to a 38-28 Marist lead, Morehead State began its charge when running back Lawrence Jones scampered in from three yards out to cap an 11-play, 80-yard drive. The Eagles would tie the game with Matt Ward's 33-yard field goal with four seconds left in regulation.

In the extra period, Marist's defense held Morehead State to three plays and a 34-yard field goal. After moving backward on its first two plays, the Red Foxes ended the game with White's 32-yard pass to Christian.

White completed 18-of-32 passes for 377 yards and five touchdowns. Christian became the first PFL receiver to amass 200 receiving yards, catching six passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns.

Morehead State quarterback Austin Gahafer completed 30-of-57 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns. He also was the Eagles leading rusher, with nine carries for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Valparaiso 21, Stetson 18
DELAND, Fla. – Running back Cody Boxrucker had just seven carries for 25 yards, but two of those runs resulted in touchdowns to help Valparaiso secure a 21-18 PFL victory against Stetson, Saturday, at Spec Martin Stadium.

Stetson scored the game's only points in the first quarter. Kicker Grant Amick connected on a 23-yard field goal to open the scoring. The Hatters pushed the advantage to 5-0 after a wild snap resulted in a safety against Valparaiso.

Valparaiso's offense found its legs in the second quarter. Quarterback Jimmy Seewald hit Griffin Norberg for a 38-yard passing touchdown to take the lead. On the ensuing possession, the Crusaders' Drew Snouffer intercepted a pass and returned it inside the Stetson red zone. Five plays later Boxrucker found the end zone for a 14-5 lead.

Stetson would score just befor ethe half when Gaven DeFilippo and Kegan Moore combined for a 38-yard touchdown pass. But on the other side of the break, Valparaiso's Norberg blocked a Stetson punt on its first drive. Two plays later Boxrucker scored again for a 21-12 Valparaiso lead.

Down the stretch the Valparaiso defense came up big. The Hatters final four drives ended with a missed 45-yard field goal, back-to-back interceptions and another missed 45-yard field goal.

Valparaiso needed just 226 offensive yards in the victory. Seewald completed 13-of-30 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown to pace that effort.

DeFilippo completed 19-of-45 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown, but was the victim of four interceptions.

San Diego 38, Drake 7
DES MOINES, Iowa – Quarterback Anthony Lawrence threw four touchdowns to lead San Diego past Drake, 38-7, in Saturday PFL action at Drake Stadium.

San Diego broke the game open with a 17-point second quarter. The Toreros extended their lead to 14-0 when Tevin Heyward scrambled into the end zone from two yards out. On the next San Diego possession, Lawrence led a 12-play, 63-yard drive that he capped with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Ross Dwelley. Kicker Patrick Murray would tack on a 44-yard field goal as the gun sounded at halftime with San Diego leading 24-0.

Lawrence would add a pair of third quarter touchdown throws to salt the game away and finished the day completing 19-of-29 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns.

Drake would break up the shuout bid midway through the fourth quarter with Drew Lauer's nine-yard touchdown run. However, the Bulldogs run game was held to 42 yards on 25 carries. A trio of Drake quarterbacks combined to complete 17-of-40 passes for 187 yards.
