San Diego quarterback Mason Mills set a PFL record with 511 passing yards in a 41-9 victory against Dayton, Saturday. Butler moved to 6-0 in PFL play with a 31-20 victory at Davidson, Saturday, as Trae Heeter ran for 233 yards on 27 carries, including two touchdowns. Morehead State notched its first PFL win as quarterback Zach Lewis threw for five touchdowns in a 70-28 PFL win. Marist improved to 2-3 in league play with a win at Valparaiso.

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Trae Heeter ran for 231 yards and two touchdowns to lead Butler past Davidson, 31-20, in Saturday PFL action at Richardson Stadium. Heeter, whose 231-yard performance was the best by a PFL running back since 2006 (Scott Phaydavong, 242 yards at Butler), secured the win with a 78-yard touchdown dash that gave Butler a 24-10 with 1:17 remaining in the first half. Davidson closed within four points after Robert Schick's 34-yard field goal, but  Butler responded on its ensuing drive – Matt Lancaster finding Marquese Martin-Hayes for a seven-yard touchdown. Heeter finished the game with 27 carries for 231 yards, averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Lancaster completed 16-of-31 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Davidson wideout Lanny Funsten caught 13 passes for 131 yards as quarterback Jonathan Carkhuff completed 31-of-48 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.

MOREHEAD STATE def. CAMPBELL, 70-28
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State scored on 10 of its 13 possessions and rolled to a 70-28 PFL victory against Campbell, Saturday at Jayne Stadium. The Eagles finished the game with 700 total offensive yards as quarterback Zach Lewis completed 27-of-32 passes for 339 yards and five touchdowns. Morehead State secured the win just before halftime when Lewis found Donte Sawyer for a 40-yard touchdown catch-and-carry for a 35-21 lead. Campbell scored to start the second half before Morehead State scored the game's final five touchdowns. Campbell running back Kurt Odom ran for 170 yards on 21 carries, including a 70-yard touchdown run for the Fighting Camels first touchdown.

VALPARAISO, Ind. – Marist scored 30 points in the opening 30 minutes and did not look back in a 44-7 PFL victory against Valparaiso, Saturday at Brown Stadium. The Red Foxes first four touchdowns were each capped by a play of more than 75 yards – quarterback Chuckie Looney throwing touchdown passes of 97 and 78 yards to tight end Michael Rios while Wale Onakoya scored on an 85-yard touchdown run and Max Jacques added a 96-yard run just before halftime. Valparaiso broke through when Eric Hoffman found Tanner Kuramata for a 21-yard touchdown strike. Marist finished the game with 661 offensive yards nearly evenly split between its ground game (349 yards) and its air attack (312). Rios finished with four catches for 193 yards while Jacques rushed for 128 yards on nine carries and Onakoya added 110 yards on seven carries. Hoffman led Valparaiso with a 25-of-41 passing performance for 304 yards and a touchdown, including finding wideout Eric Slenk six times for 118 yards.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Quarterback Mason Mills threw for a PFL record 511 yards as San Diego rolled past Dayton, 41-9, in Saturday PFL action at Torero Stadium. Dayton had just broke through with Pat Sankovic's 28-yard field goal with 8:42 remaining in the second quarter and trailed 10-3. However, San Diego responded on its next drive as quarterback Mason Mills found Sam Hoekstra for a 34-yard touchdown pass – the first of 31 consecutive points that broke the game open. The Toreros finished with 579 total yards, including Mills impressive 31-of-41, 511-yard and four-touchdown performance. His 511 passing yards broke the 12-year old league record held by Butler's DeWayne Ewing (497 yards vs. San Diego on Oct. 21, 2000). The bulk of that effort went to wideout Sam Hoekstra who caught 11 passes for 246 yards (tying the PFL season high) and a touchdown. Dayton was held to 263 offensive yards with running back Robert Washington recording 10 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown to lead a 175-yard rushing attack.
