CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Valparaiso's Greg Wood and San Diego's Ernest Collins were named to the College Football Performance Aawards Preseason Punter Award Watch List, the organization announced Monday.

Wood was a second-team All-PFL selection last season after averaging 42.0 yards per punt and his 76 punts were one shy of the Crusader's single-season record. As a sophomore, Wood posted a PFL record 43.6 yards per punt en route to first-team All-PFL honors in 2010.

Collins ranked fifth among PFL punters in 2011 after transferring to San Diego from Laney Junior College. He averaged 39.8 yards per punt on 46 attempts for the Toreros. He placed 15 of those attempts inside the 20-yard line.

The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
