Four PFL players named to CFPA preseason watch list at Tight End

CHARLOTTE – Butler's Matt Jenson, Drake's Kevin Marshall, Jacksonville's Quintin Davis and Marist's Anthony Calcagni were each named to the College Football Performance Awards preseason watch list at tight end, the organization announced, Monday.

Davis returns after earning first-team All-PFL honors in 2011. He recorded 19 pass receptions last season, including six for touchdowns, and amassed 326 receiving yards.

Calcagni also was a first-team All-PFL selection in 2011. He was second among Red Foxes receivers with 40 catches and tied for the team lead with five touchdown receptions. Calcagni finished the 2011 campaign with 494 receiving yards.

Jenson was an honorable mention All-PFL honoree last seasonwith nine receptions for 149 yards, including four touchdown catches. Marshall returns to the Bulldogs after posting 33 catches, 280 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions last season.

The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
