Princeton 39, Stetson 14

Brady Meitz threw two first half touchdowns but visiting Princeton closed with the game's final 32 points to down Stetson, 39-14, Saturday at Spec Martin Stadium. Meitz made good use of the long ball early. First, he found Michael Carley on a 60-yard strike for the game's first touchdown. Meitz then connected with Nazeviah Burris for a 49-yard touchdown to open the second quarter, giving Stetson a 14-7 lead. Princetone scored touchdowns on its next two possessions before using a safety to take a 22-14 lead. The Tigers held Stetson scoreless in the second half while scoring 10 points in the third quarter and seven points in the fourth to clinch the win. Meitz completed 23-of-35 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns but the Hatters were held to minus-10 yards rushing on 19 carries.

Dayton 46, Kentucky State 3
DAYTON, Ohio -
Jake Chisholm caught two touchdown passes and ran for a touchdown as Dayton scored in its 500th consecutive game, downing Kentucky State, 46-3, Saturday, in its home opener at Welcome Stadium. Chisholm opened the game's scoring with a 5-yard touchdown reception from Dante Casiola. The Flyers and Thorobreds traded field goals in the second quarter, leaving Dayton with a 10-3 halftime lead. Chisholm opened the second half with a 54-yard touchdown reception and later added a 10-yard touchdown run as the Flyers opened a 25-3 lead. Chisholm finished with two receptions for 59 yards and had 33 yards on 12 carries. Dayton's defense held Kentucky State to 47 plays totalling 134 yards.

Dartmouth 35, Valparaiso 13
HANOVER, N.H. -
Brian Bartholomew connected on field goals of 39 and 37 yards but Valparaiso could not keep pace with Dartmouth in a 35-13 loss, Saturday, at Memorial Field. Dartmouth and Valparaiso traded scoring drives in the first half but while Dartmouth scored three touchdowns in the opening half, Valparaiso scored a field goal and a touchdown to find itself trailing 21-10 at the break. Bartholomew would trim the deficit to eight points with his 37-yard field goal at the 5:32 mark of the third quarter, but Dartmouth scored two more touchdowns to secure the victory. Valparaiso's Aaron Dawson ended the day with 13 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Idaho 42, Drake 14
MOSCOW, Idaho -
Drake scored touchdowns on back-to-back possessions and held a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter but could not hold off Idaho in a 42-14 loss, Saturday, at the Kibbie Dome. Drake's Davion Cherwin tied the game at 7-7 with his 3-yard run at the 1:15 mark of the first quarter. Less than a minute into the second quarter Dorian Boylan extended the Bulldogs lead to 14-7 with a 3-yard run of his own. The Vandals responded with a pair of field goals and a touchdown over the final 10 minutes to build a 20-14 halftime lead. Idaho held Drake scoreless in the second half as it eased to the victory. Ian Corwin completed 9-of-21 passes for 150 yards to pace Drake.

Western Carolina 77, Presbyterian 21
CULLOWHEE, N.C. -
Nate Hayden ran for a touchdown and threw for another but Presbyterian could not keep pace with a Western Carolina offense that amassed 766 offensive yards while pulling away for a 77-22 victory, Saturday, at Whitmire Stadium. Hayden scored a game-tying touchdown with a four-yard run at the 14:15 mark of the second quarter. But Western Carolina closed the first half with three-straight touchdowns and opened the second half with three-consecutve touchdowns to break the game open, 49-7 with 4:40 left in the third quarter. Hayden completed 12-of-20 passes for 188 yards to lead the Blue Hose's offensive effort.

Columbia 38, Marist 3
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -
Luke Paladino's 30-yard field goal with 1:10 left in the game broke up a shutout bid as Columbia charged to a 38-3 victory, Saturday, at Tenney Stadium. Columbia opened its season with a 21-point first quarter and did not look back. Marist was held to 297 offensive yards in the contest with quarterback Brock Bagnozzi completing 14-of-28 passes for 124 yards.

Morehead State 49, Kentucky Christian 14
MORHEAD, Ky. -
Morehead State opened with the game's first 28 points and rolled to a 49-14 home-opening victory against Kentucky Christians, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium. James Louis ran for two touchdowns, and Grady Cramer passed for two touchdowns as part of Morehead State's 28-7 first-quarter outburst. Cramer completed 17-of-32 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns to pace the Eagles. Louis ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.

South Dakota State 45, Butler 17
BROOKINGS, S.D. -
Bret Bushka threw for a touchdown and ran for another but South Dakota State broke the game open with 38 consecutive points in a 45-17 victory, Saturday, at Dykhouse Stadium. Bushka's 56-yard touchdown pass to Luke Wooten tied the game, 7-7, with 7:49 left in the first quarter. But South Dakota State scored three touchdowns to close the first half, opening a 28-7 lead it would not relinquish. Bushka completed 18-of-31 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown and added 29 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

Davidson 56, St. Andrews 6
DAVIDSON, N.C. -
Davidson scored 35 points in the opening 16:23 and raced past St. Andrews, 56-6, Saturday at Richardson Stadium. Davidson finished the game with 414 yards, and six touchdowns on 45 carries, with Coy Williams soring on both of his two carries, totaling 71 yards before nine minutes had elapsed in the game. Aaron Malone also had two touchdown runs in his three-carry, 29-yard outing.

UC Davis 43, San Diego 13
DAVIS, Calif. -
San Diego's Judd Erickson threw a second-quarter touchdown, but UC Davis scored the game's first 28 points and claimed a 43-13 victory, Saturday, at UC Davis Health Stadium. Erickson found Vance Jefferson for a 28-yard touchdown with 4:39 remaining in the second frame, but San Diego trailed 35-7 at halftime. Re-al Mitchell added a 15-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to cap the Toreros scoring. Erickson completed 17-of-28 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown.
