Davidson 28, San Diego 16
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Trailing 9-7 at halftime, Davidson scored the second half's first 14 points to secure a 28-16 PFL-opening victory against San Diego, Saturday. San Diego scored first on Emilio Martinez' 13-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Davidson responded almost 15 minutes later when Dylan Sparks dashed in to the end zone from one yard out. San Diego secured the halftime lead with a safety minutes later. However, Davidson scored the third quarter's only points on Mark McCurdy's four-yard run and extended its lead early in the fourth when Eli Turner Jr. scored from five yards out to secure the win. Davidson out-gained San Diego, 367-205, largely thanks to Davidson's 272-27 edge in rushing yards.

Dayton 63, Presbyterian 43
DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton scored 28 points in both the second and third quarters to erase a 23-0 deficit and post a 63-43 PFL-opening victory against Presbyterian, Saturday. Presbyterian opened with the game's opening 23 points as quarterback Ren Hefley passed for scores of 15 and 66 yards followed by Delvecchio Powell's 56-yard run. Dayton got on the board just before the end of the first quarter when Jack Cook found L. Brenner for a 32-yard touchdown. That score jump-started a 49-point run by Dayton's offense which included two safeties, a field goal, three rushing TDs and two passing touchdowns to build a 49-23 lead that would stand. Dayton quarterback Jack Cook passed for three touchdowns and ran for three more, finishing with 336 offensive yards. Hefley passed for 443 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for another.

Valparaiso 24, Drake 21
DES MOINES, Iowa – Ben Nimz connected with Jordan Bingham for a 30-yard touchdown with 1:05 left to lead Valparaiso to a 24-21 PFL-opening victory, Saturday. Valparaiso running back Robert Washington rushed for two touchdowns, both in the first quarter to give the Beacons a 14-7 lead. Drake would regain the lead in the fourth quarter when Luke Bailey hit Colin Howard on a 49-yard touchdown pass for a 21-17 lead with 12:10 left before Valparaiso's game-winning drive. Washington finished with 143 yards on 17 carries. Baile paced Drake with his 28-of-48, 283-yard and two touchdown passing performance.

Princeton 63, Stetson 0
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton held Stetson to 199 offensive yards and scored at least 10 points in each quarter to post a 63-0 victory, Saturday. Princeton quarterback completed 15-of-24 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns and the Tigers run game scored five touchdowns as part of a 47-carry, 208-yard effort. Stetson quarterbacks Justin Agner and John Seter combined to pass for 173 yards to lead Stetson.

St. Thomas 36, Butler 0
ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas made the most of its PFL debut, scoring a 36-0 victory against Butler, Saturday. Cade Sexauer threw a pair of touchdown passes as part of his 17-for-24, 194-yard outing. The Tommies rushing game also added three touchdowns, two by Tom Loeffler. Butler quarterback Bret Bushka passed for 177 yards on 16-of-27 passing and the Bulldogs ran for 177 yards on 16 carries.

Bryant 34, Marist 17
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Bryant scored the game's first 17 points and then held on for a 34-17 victory against Marist, Saturday. After Bryant's opening outburst, Marist battled back with touchdowns on either side of the halftime break. Brock Bagozzi found Mekhai Johnson for an 11-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left in the first half. After the break, he connected with Dwayne Menders for a 14-yard touchdown to close the defiit to three points. But Bryant pushed the lead back to 10 points on Zevi Eckhaus' 12-yard touchdown pass while the Bulldogs held the Red Foxes to three points over the final 26 minutes to secure the win. Bagozzi completed 20-of-37 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns to lead Marist's offense.
