MARIST 26, STETSON 23
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Luke Strnad found Anthony Olivencia for a 75-yard go-ahead touchdown midway through the fourth quarter and Marist held on for a 26-23 victory against Stetson in the PFL opener for both teams, Saturday, at Tenney Stadium. Olivencia finished the day with 150 receiving yards and caught both touchdown passes, including a 45-yarder from starter Austin Day to end the first half. Stetson rallied from the 19-10 halftime deficit with the lone third quarter touchdown and a fourth-quarter score after a turnover. But the Hatters lead lasted just 53 seconds before Strnad's winning throw.

CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 42, VALPARAISO 13
VALPARISO, Ind. – Valparaiso returned a blocked punt for a touchdown for the game's first points but dropped a 42-13 decision to Central Connecticut, Saturday, at Brown Field. Jamari Booker returned a blocked punt 30 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The Crusaders led 14-13 late in the third quarter thanks to a Chris Duncan touchdown run but the lead would not last long. The Blue Devils scored on a 75-yard run on the ensuing drive then struck for a 30-yard interception return for a score and a 85-yard touchdown run to break the game open. Chris Duncan completed 24-of-47 passes for 214 yards but was intercepted four times.

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 38, DRAKE 10
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Ian Corwin completed 19-of-34 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown but Drake fell to South Dakota State, 38-10, Saturday at Dykhouse Stadium. Corwin found Shane Feller for a 10-yard score early in the fourth quarter but it was Drake's lone touchdown. South Dakota State scored the game's first 10 points then added a 21-point burst to break the game open.

DAYTON 34, ROBERT MORRIS 31
DAYTON, Ohio – Ryan Skibinski caught a 20-yard pass from Jack Cook to put Dayton ahead for good in a 34-31 nonconference win, Saturday, at Welcome Stadium. The Flyers and Colonials traded touchdowns through the first half, Dayton breaking the string with a touchdown to start the third quarter after ending the first half with a field goal to take a 27-17 lead. Cook found Skibinski to give Dayton a 34-24 lead only to watch Robert Morris score on its ensuing drive. The teams traded turnovers on their next two possessions, Tim Simon intercepting a pass to seal the win. Cook completed 13-of-26 passes for 238 yards, passed for two touchdowns and ran for another.

MOREHEAD STATE 73, KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN 34
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State scored 24 consecutive points to break a 28-28 tie and rolled to a 73-34 victory against Kentucky Christian, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium. After seeing the game tied at 28-28 with 4:56 left in the second quarter, Morehead State got a 42-yard field goal from Andrew Foster to break the tie just before halftime. The Eagles then opened the third quarter with three touchdowns, pushing its lead to 52-28. Morehead State finished with 283 yards and seven touchdowns through its running game. Jovan Smith rushing for three scores and 106 yards while Issiah Aguero finished with 115 yards.

TAYLOR 17, BUTLER 14
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Kavon Samuels and Nick Orlando each ran for touchdowns but Butler fell to Taylor, 17-14, Saturday at the Sellick Bowl. Taylor scored the game's first two touchdowns, building a 14-0 lead less than three minutes into the second quarter. Samuels put Butler on the board just before halftime with a one-yard touchdown run. After a Taylor field goal, Orlando dove in from one yard midway throught he fourth quarter to set the final score. Sam Brown completed 17-of-25 passes for 191 yards to pace the Bulldogs.

DAVIDSON 41, WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN 0
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson amassed 357 rushing yards and scored four times through the run game to outpace West Virginia Wesleyan, 41-0, Saturday at Richardson Stadium. Eli Turner Jr. ran for 110 yards and a touchdown to lead the Wildcacts. Meanwhile, the Davidson defense held the Bobcats to 186 yards total offensive yards.

JACKSONVILLE 30, PRESBYTERIAN 20
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to rally from a halftime deficit en route to a 30-20 victory against Presbyterian, Saturday, at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Calvin Turner Jr. ran for a score and threw for another in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
