San Diego defeated Butler, 28-27

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Ian Dobeck intercepted a potential game-winning two-point conversion with 16 seconds remaining as San Diego escaped with a 28-27 PFL victory against Butler, Saturday, at Torero Stadium. With the win, San Diego claims a share of the 2015 PFL title, its seventh all-time title. The Bulldogs final drive was set up courtesy Adam Rogers' fumble recovery with 6:54 left. Matt Shiltz led Butler on a 12-play, 80-yard scoring drive to setup the pivotal two-point attempt. Chris Wilson and Anthony Lawrence combined at quarterback for San Diego, finishing with 322 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Wide receiver Brian Riley caught six of those passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Shiltz led Butler with 388 passing yards on 31-of-52 passing, completing a pass to 10 different receivers.

BUTLER RECAP: Butler Drops Heart-Breaker at San Diego, 28-27


Drake def. Dayton, 27-17

DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake scored the game's first 21 points and held on for a 27-17 PFL victory against Dayton, Saturday, at Drake Stadium. The loss ends Dayton's 12-game win streak and its undefeated season, but the Flyers end the season with a share of their 12th PFL title and the league's automatic bid to the Division I Football Championship. Drake scored on pass plays of 23 and 21 yards off Andy Rice's arm while Conley Wilkins added a 25-yard touchdown run for a 21-0 halftime lead. Dayton opened the second half with a pair of touchdowns, but critically saw a potential game-winning drive thwarted as they settled for a field goal. The Bulldogs secured the game with less than two minutes remaining as Conley Wilkins scored on a 60-yard run. Wilkins finished the day with 19 carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns to pace Drake. Dayton's Alex Jeske completed 27-of-44 passes for 215 yards and rushed for a touchdown.

Jacksonville def. Valparaiso, 58-13

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville's offense amassed 296 yards and four touchdowns on the ground to close 2015 with a 58-13 PFL victory against Valparaiso, Saturday. The Dolphins scored 41 first-half points and led 41-6 at the halftime break. Jacksonville quarterback Rylan Wells completed 15-of-26 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins running back Jamal Adjamah ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Valparaiso kicker Jacob Newman hit a pair of field goals and quaterback Scott Staal found Ryan Dugan for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Morehead State def. Marist, 20-17

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Shavi Bash's 37-yard field goal with 16 seconds left helped Morehead State nab a 20-17 PFL victory against Marist, Saturday, at Tenney Stadium. It was the fourth lead change in the contest which also featured two ties. Bash was responsible for all the scoring in the fourth quarter, hitting a 25-yard field goal to tie the game, 17-17, early in the fourth quarter. Austin Gahafer completed 32-of-56 for 267 yards and a touchdown to pace Morehead State. Marist signal-caller Michael White completed 18-of-32 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown.

Davidson def. Stetson, 20-17

DeLAND, Fla. – Trevor Smith hit a 47-yard field goal with 1:24 left and Ryan Leak intercepted a pass on the ensuing drive as Davidson finished 2015 with a 20-17 PFL victory against Stetson, Saturday, at a soggy Spec Martin Stadium. Davidson led 10-0 at halftime but Stetson tied the game early in the fourth quarter when Cole Mazza ran for a 10-yard touchdown. The Hatters and Wildcats traded touchdowns befor Smith broke the tie with his season's longest kick. Quarterback Trevor Mitchell completed 18-of-37 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns to lead Davidson to its first PFL win since Nov. 10, 2012 – ending a streak of 22 PFL losses. Stetson's Ryan Tentler completed 13-of-22 passes for 173 yards but was intercepted twice.
