Morehead State's Duzan, Marist's Jason Myers named to Fred Mitchell Award Watch List

CHICAGO – Pioneer Football League kickers – Morehead State's Rainer Duzan and Marist's Jason Myers have been named to the the 2012 Fred Mitchell Award Watch List.

Duzan, a two-time first-team All-PFL selection, led the league's kickers with 85 points last season. He converted 12-of-17 field goals and 49-of-51 PATs. Duzan set a league record for points in a game by a kicker with 19 points in Morehead State's victory against Kentucky Christian last season. 

Myers was an honorable mention All-PFL choice last season after leading Marist with 41 points last season. He made 6-of-7 field goals (coverting his last six tries) and was 23-of-25 on PATs. Myers set a Marist record with a 49-yard field goal against Davidson last season.

The annual Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award (also known as the Fred Mitchell Award) is provided to the nation's top collegiate place-kicker among more than 750 FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA football teams. The 2012 Watch List for the award includes 44 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) collegiate place-kickers that were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community.
