    OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    Gabe Abel, St. Thomas

    Abel became the fourth FCS freshman to rush for three touchdowns this season in St. Thomas’ 26-17 PFL victory against Drake, Saturday. In his first collegiate start, he had 18 carries for 100 yards, with 61 yards and a touchdown on four carries in the fourth quarter. With the game tied 7-7 in the second quarter, Abel’s six-yard touchdown run broke the tie with 8:28 remaining in the half. He added a second touchdown run six minutes later, giving St. Thomas a 20-7 halftime lead. Abel wrapped up the day’s scoring with a five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He becomes the third PFL player to record three touchdown carries in a game this season.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Hong’s 29-yard interception return for a touchdown opened the scoring in San Diego’s 28-3 PFL victory against Presbyterian, Saturday. He finished the game with four tackles (all solo) and had another pass breakup in the outing. Hong led a San Diego defense that held Presbyterian to 52 passing yards on 25 pass attempts with 162 total offensive yards and no touchdowns.

    SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Zurak was responsible for eight points in Butler’s 26-25 PFL victory at Valparaiso, Saturday. He was responsible for Butler’s first points with his 35 and 22 -yard field goals in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to 13-6. Zurak connected of 2-of-3 PATs, including what proved to be the game-winning PAT with 1:45 remaining in the game. As a punter, Zurak had kicks of 49 and 51 yards, for an average of 50 yards per punt with both going for touchbacks. He also was responsible for kickoff duties, with six kicks averaging 58.7 yards and one touchback and Valparaiso averaging 13.2 yards per kick return.
