    Chisholm was Dayton’s workhorse Saturday, carrying the ball 34 times and scoring twice in a victory at Drake. His 34 carries are third most in a single game among FCS runners this season. Despite the high workload, he got stronger as the game went on gaining 13 yards in the first quarter. 19 in the second, 41 in the third, and 71 in the fourth quarter. He carried the ball 14 of Dayton’s final 15 plays, gaining 64 yards and rushing for a multiple tackle-breaking touchdown from 10 yards out with 4:05 to go. Chisholm’s first touchdown, from four yards out, was the capstone to the Flyers’ 21-0 game-opening burst that put the game out of reach.

    Arrington had a busy day with 14 tackles in the first three quarters to lead a Marist defense that kept Stetson out of the end zone in a win, Saturday. The Red Foxes defense surrendered a lone field goal to the Hatters, the first time in eight years Marist has not surrendered an offensive touchdown in a game. Arrington’s 14-tackle day included 2½ tackles for loss, a sack, and a pass breakup. In the second quarter, he had a key stuff tackle on 2nd-and-Goal for no gain on a drive that surrendered the field goal. In the third quarter, he notched a key tackle for loss on a pass play in Marist territory, helping the Red Foxes stall a drive that resulted in a missed field goal.

    Niesner’s averaged 53.2 yards per punt on six punts, including four punts of 50-plus yards, in Valparaiso’s loss to St. Thomas, Saturday. His 53.2-yard punt average was the 10th-best single game average in the FCS this season and second best among punters with six or more punts this season. All six of his punts went for 40-plus yards, four went for 50-plus, and he had a 63-yarder that was the second longest of his career. With Niesner’s punting, St. Thomas’ average starting position was its own 27-yard line while it was its own 37-yard line on all other drive starts.
