Dayton 17, Eastern Illinois 10
DAYTON, Ohio –Dayton scored on each of its first three possessions to start the second half and downed Eastern Illinois, 17-10, Saturday at Welcome Stadium. Coming out of halftime trailing 3-0, the Flyers pieced together a 14-play, 71-yard drive capped by a Jack Cook-to-Jake Chisholm 10-yard touchdown connection to take a 7-3 lead. On the ensuing EIU drive, Brandon Easterling forced a fumble at the EIU 34-yard line, putting the Flyers in business deep in Panthers territory and the scored five plays later when Cook rushed into the end zone from a yard out for a 14-3 lead. The Dayton defense then forced a three-and-out and Easterling returned the punt 29 yards to put the Dayton offense at the EIU 31 yard line. Seven plays later, Sam Webster hit a 31-yard field goal and the lead was 17-3. Eastern Illinois would not find the end zone until 19 seconds remained in the game. Neither offense finished with more than 300 yards offense, EIU outgaining UD by a 299-266 margin.

St. Thomas 12, Michigan Tech 10
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Louis Hyde hit a 32-yard field goal with 59 seconds left, helping St. Thomas win in its Division I debut, 12-9 at Michigan Tech, Saturday. The Tommies avoided disaster earlier in the fourth quarter when tight end Aiden Carlson recovered a fumble in the end zone with 5:37 left for a game-tying touchdown to cap an eight-play, 76-yard drive. In another game where neither team finished with more than 300 yards, St. Thomas outgained Michigan Tech, 269-233. 

Morehead State 62, Point (Ga.) 9
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Mark Pappas threw a career-high five touchdowns, including four to start the game, as Morehead State swamped Point University (Ga.), 62-9, Saturday. The Eagles dominated the first three quarters, scoring the first game's first 59 points with Pappas under center. He finished the game 29-of-45 for 286 yards passing in less than 42 minutes of playing time. Morehead State's defense held Point to 205 offensive yards and did not allow any points until surrendering a field goal with 5:27 remaining.

North Dakota State 64, Valparaiso 0
FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State used big plays and a stout defense to down Valparaiso, 64-0, Saturday. The Bisons opened the game with a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown and then scored seven touchdowns on plays of more than 20 yards. NDSU finished with 583 offensive yards while limiting Valparaiso to 185 yards. Beacons quarterback Ben Nimz completed 9-of-14 passes for 63 yards rushed for 20 yards on five carries.

Presbyterian 68, Fort Lauderdale 3
CLINTON, S.C. – Ren Hefley threw for four touchdowns and 309 yards, leading Presbyterian to a 68-3 victory against Fort Lauderdale, Saturday. Hefley threw for the game's first two scores, finding Kiaran Turner and Jacobi Jones for touchdowns. Tyler Huff then tacked on a touchdown with his 51-yard connection with Matthew Rivera for a 22-0 lead. The defense then stepped up in the second quarter, forcing a pair of safeties before Hefley and Rivera hooked up again for a 71-yard touchdown and a 40-3 halfitme lead the Blue Hose would not relinquish. Hefley finished the day 22-of-35 passing for 309 yards.

UC Davis 53, San Diego 7
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – UC Davis scored the first 36 points and downed San Diego, 53-7, Saturday. Each of UC Davis' first five scores came courtesy plays of 20-plus yards with Hunter Rodrigues throwing for four scores and running for a 28-yard touchdown. San Diego broke up the shutout bid late in the fourth quarter when Terrance Smith capped a 30-yard drive, setup by a muffed punt recovery, with a one-yard touchdown plunge. Wide receivers Ja'seem Reed and Vance Jefferson each had 79 receiving yards to pace the Toreros offense.

Butler 49, DePauw 24
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Butler broke out to a 28-7 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 49-24 victory, Saturday. Quarterback Bret Bushka passed for 161 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 105 yards to lead Butler's offense. He found Yogi Flagler for an 11-yard touchdown pass just before halftime for what proved to be the game-winning score and a 28-7 halftime lead. Butler secured the victory with three touchdown runs in the second half by three different rushers, capping a 419-yard rushing performance by the offense.

Stetson 49, Ave Maria 16
DeLAND, Fla. – Ave Maria scored the game's first touchdown but Stetson scored the next six touchdowns to post a 49-16 victory, Saturday. Jalen Leary rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns in the win, opening with a three-yard touchdown dash that gave the Hatters the lead for good. John Seeter threw for three touchdowns as part of his 26-for-40, 276-yard performance.

Davidson 28, Shaw 26
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson fended off Shaw's fourth-quarter comeback bid, holding on for a 28-26 victory, Saturday. Both teams scored in bunches with Davidson breaking out toa  14-0 lead thanks to two Coy Williams one-yard touchdown runs. Shaw responded with the next touchdowns, but saw a failed PAT keep it from tying the game. The Wildcats then built another two-score lead with Dylan Sparks rushing for one TD and Elijah Burrell finding Jackson Sherrard for another score and a 28-13 lead. Shaw would score twice in the fourth quarter, but a two-point conversion failed when a pitch attempt missed its mark. The Wildcats offense posted 335 rushing yards on 63 carries.

Montana State 45, Drake 7
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State scored the game's first 24 points to down Drake, 45-7, Saturday. Matthew McKay threw for two touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the first half as the Bobcats broke out to a 24-0 lead. Drake found the end zone late in the first half as Ian Corwin finished a 13-play, 75-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Cross Robinson. Corwin finished with 149 yards on 14-of-24 passing to pace the Bulldogs offense.
