VALPARAISO defeated DAVIDSON, 42-35

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Valparaiso quarterback Ryan Clarke found Griffin Norberg for a 12-yard touchdown with less than two minutes remaining to push Valparaiso past Davidson, 42-35, in Saturday PFL action at Richardson Stadium. The game featured five ties and four lead changes. Davidson scored two touchdowns in a 76-second span to tie then take a 35-28 lead to start the fourth quarter. Valparaiso responded on the ensuing kickoff when Jarrett Morgan returned the kick 89 yards for a game-tying touchdown. The Crusaders took the lead for good on their next possession and held Davidson to two two-play drives to end the contest. Clarke completed 18-of-32 passes for 244 yards and five touchdowns, including two touchdown passes to Frank Catrine who finished with 135 yards on nine receptions. Davidson quarterback Taylor Mitchell completed 19-of-35 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns, receiver William Morris finishing with 114 yards and two touchdowns. on eight receptions.

DAVIDSON RECAP: Valpo Rallies Past Davidson With Late Touchdowns


JACKSONVILLE defeated MOREHEAD STATE, 30-26

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville scored 27 consecutive points to build a 27-7 lead then held on late for a 30-26 PFL victory against Morehead State, Saturday, at D.B. Milne Field. Morehead State scored the game's first points when Austin Gahafer found Justin Cornwall for a nine-yard score with 4:35 left in the first quarter. The Eagles would not score again until midway through the third quarter as Jacksonville struck for 27 straight points – two Ulysses Bryant touchdowns and three Brandon Behr field goals. Morehead State would score the game's final 12 points, but Jacksonville drained the clock on the game's final possession to secure the win. Bryant finished with 114 rushing yards and 93 receiving yards, amassing 207 all-purpose yards on 22 touches. Gahafer completed 23-of-53 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns without an interception.

DAYTON defeated Stetson, 27-14

DeLAND, Fla. – Dayton won in wire-to-wire fashion for the first time this season, downing Stetson 27-14 in PFL action Saturday at Spec-Martin Stadium. Quarterback Alex Jeske threw three touchdown passes as part of a 15-for-23, 223-yard performance. Stetson outgained the Flyers by a 330-280 margin, but could not overcome a pair of interceptions. The Hatters first interception came in the first quarter, Dayton's Chrsitian Searles returning it 71 yards to set up the Flyers offense at the four-yard line. Three plays later, Jeske found Tyler Tumpane for a three-yard touchdown and a 10-0 lead. Stetson's Ryan Tentler completed 22-of-45 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown and ran for 90 yards on 11 carries, including another touchdown.

SAN DIEGO defeated MARIST, 30-27

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San Diego rallied from a 13-point deficit then nearly saw a 10-point lead slip away in a 30-27 PFL victory against Marist, Saturday, at Torero Stadium. Marist built a 20-7 lead early in the second quarter after scoring 20 consecutive points, capped by Garrett Clay's one-yard touchdown run with 11:10 left in the second. San Diego scored the game's next three touchdowns, including Michael White's game-tying 30-yard interception return for a touchdown. Anthony Lawrence gave San Diego the lead for good with a five-yard touchdown pass and kicker Jack Flatau kicked what would be a game-winning 23-yard field goal. Marist scored on its ensuing drive on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Michael White to Juston Christian, but could not stop San Diego on the game's final possesion which drained the final 5:05 off the clock. Lawrence completed 22-of-35 passes for 207 yards, threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Michael White led Marist with a 13-for-28 passing performance for 237 yards and three touchdowns.

CAMPBELL defeated DRAKE, 24-14

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – A nine-sack defensive performance helped Campbell down Drake for the first time in program history in a 24-14 PFL victory, Saturday, at Barker-Lane Stadium. Ugonna Awuruonye had three sacks to lead a Fighting Camels defense that held Drake to 154 yards. Despite the defensive effort, Campbell trailed 14-10 late in the third quarter. Wide Receiver Ben Bolling turned the tied when he found Andre Davis for a 14-yard touchdown passing touchdown with eight seconds left in the quarter for a 17-14 lead. Campbell extended its lead late in the fourth quarter as Kameron Bryant completed a 53-yard pass to Aaron Blockman for a touchdown. Bryant completed 11-of-23 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown. Drake quarterback Andy Rice completed 12-of-27 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns, but was sacked nine times for 61 yards in lost yardage.
