Pioneer Football League Announces 19th Annual Academic All-PFL Teams
» Back
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The Pioneer Football League announced today its 19th annual Academic All-PFL squads. Fifty-one student-athletes were named to the two squads, Drake landing a league-best nine student-athletes on the two teams while Butler, Dayton and San Diego each had eight student-athletes named.

The Pioneer Football League had 12 student-athletes named to their respective Capital One Academic All-District teams, the beginning of a process that will culminate in the naming of the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America© teams, Thursday, Dec. 8.

Pioneer Football League athletic directors established the Academic All-PFL squads in 1993 as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his career. No athlete is eligible until he has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his institution.
