Five PFL punters named to CFPA Preseason Watch List

Butler's Michael Wilson, Campbell's Ted Moore, Drake's Billy Jansen, Morehead State's Rainer Duzan and Valparaiso's Greg Wood were each selected  to the College Football Performance Awards preseason watch list at placekicker, Monday.

Wilson, a second-team All-PFL honoree last season, was fourth among PFL punters, averaging 38.5 yards per punt last season with 16 downed inside the 20-yard line. 

Moore, a honorable-mention All-PFL pick, was second among PFL punters with a 40.3 yard per punt average with seven of his 43 tries sticking inside the 20-yard line. 

Jansen, also a honorable-mention All-PFL selection, was sixth on the PFL's list of punters, averaging 38.2 yards per punt with 12 downed inside the 20-yard line. 

Duzan, a first-team pick at placekicker, also handled punting duties for Morehead State. He tied for the league's lead with 67 punt attempts and finished second in total yardage (2,574) averaging 38.4 yards per punt with a league-best 18 downed-inside the 20-yard line.

Wood was a unanimous first-team All-PFL selection at punter last season after setting the PFL record for punting, averaging 43.6 yards per punt. He saw 17 of his attempts downed inside the 20-yard line and boomed a league-best 14 punts of 50-yards or more. Wood tied for the league lead in punt attempts (67) while also leading the league in punt yardage (2,924) as a sophomore.

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferment in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
