CLEVELAND, Ohio – Phil Steele's College Football Preview has tapped Dayton's James Vercammen to its third-team Football Championship Subdivision Preseason All-America squad. 

Vercammen, a first-team All-Pioneer Football League selection last season, after posting a league single-season record 134 tackles. He also finished the 2009 campaign second among league leaders in tackles for loss (17) and ninth in sacks (six).

Dayton and Jacksonville each had six players named to Phil Steele's Preseason All-PFL first team, leading all PFL teams. Butler and Campbell each had four athletes named to the first team followed by Marist with two and Drake, Morehead State and San Diego with one each.

Dayton also was the PFL's lone representative in Phil Steele's Preseason Top 40 list, ranking 36th. The Flyers finished 2009 tied with Butler for the 2009 PFL regular-season crown with identical 7-1 league marks. Dayton finished the season with a 9-2 overall record.
