St. Joseph's (Ind.) def. Valparaiso, 31-6
RENSSELEAR, Ind. – St. Joseph's (Ind.) scored 24 points in the final 9:24 and defeated Valparaiso, 31-6, Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium. Valparaiso's scoring was limited to a pair of sophomore Chris Smith field goals – a 34 yard kick in the second quarter and a 47-yard boot in the third quarter. The Crusaders were marginally outgained, 311-225, but lost the battle of field position, starting on their own 28 while St. Joseph's enjoyed an average start from their own 43. Senior running back John Popper led the Crusaders with 77 total yards, 38 coming on 13 carries and another 39 courtesy six receptions

Butler def. Albion, 42-3
INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore quarterback Andrew Huck tied a school record with five touchdown passes as Butler downed visiting Albion, 42-3, Saturday, at the Butler Bowl. Huck, making his first collegiate start, completed 18-of-25 passes for 327 yards and also rushed for a sixth touchdown late in the third quarter. Sophomore wide receiver Zach Watkins was Huck's primary target, catching seven passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs finished the game with a 529-160 edge in total offense, amassing another 200 yards on the ground.

Campbell def. Methodist, 48-28
BUIES CREEK, N.C. –Junior quarterback Matt Vollono came off the bench and tossed four touchdown passes as Campbell posted a 48-28 victory against Methodist, Saturday, at Barker-Lane Stadium. The win was the first home victory and second victory all-time for the second-year program. Vollono's relief appearance saw him going 10-of-13 for 219 yards for those four touchdowns. The Camels trailed 21-7 halfway through the second quarter but outscored the Monarchs 41-7 over the final 37 minutes

Jacksonville def. Webber International, 40-24
LAKE WALES, Fla. – A two-hour plus weather delay could not keep Jacksonville from posting a 40-24 victory against Webber International, Saturday, at Legion Field. The Dolphins indured a 2 hour and 35 minute weather delay between the first and second quarters after grabbing a 7-0 lead. Josh Philpart led the JU effort with six receptions for a career-high 195 yards and two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Josh McGregor completed 11-of-22 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns.

Marist def. Sacred Heart, 31-12
FAIRFIELD, Conn. –Sophomore corneback Jaquan Bryant returned two interceptions for touchdowns as Marist picked up a 31-12 victory against Sacred Heart, Saturday, at Campus Field. Bryant's interceptions bookended the game's scoring – the first an 11-yard return in the first quarter and the latter a 15-yard return to close out the scoring in the fourth quarter. Junior kicker Kevin Pauly added a Marist-record 46-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Drake def. Grand View, 22-0
DES MOINES – Freshman quarterback Mike Piatkowski threw a touchdown pass in his first collegiate start as Drake opened the season with a 22-0 victory against Grand View, Saturday, at Drake Stadium. Piatkowski finished the day completing 23-of-34 passes for 248 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown bomb to sophomore wideout Drew Blackmon. Senior kicker Brandon Wubs added field goals of 37, 32 and 25 yards in the victory. The Bulldogs defense als posted its second-straight shutout (dating back to last season) and its fourth since Week 2 of the 2008 campaign.

Morehead State def. Southern Virginia, 61-10
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State breached the 60-point plateau for the first time since the 2000 campaign in a 61-10 victory against Southern Virginia, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium. The Eagles scored 30 points in the first quarter alone – scoring on a 10-yard rush, a 30-yard interception return, a 15-yard run, a safety and a four-yard pass – to burst out to a 30-0 lead. Morehead State racked up a 490-171 edge in total offense as the defense registered five sacks, 13 tackles for loss, two interceptions and four fumbles.

No. 11 Elon def. Davidson, 56-0
ELON, N.C. – Junior running back Justin Williams finished with 132 all-purpose yards but Davidson could not crack the scoreboard in a 56-0 loss to nationally-ranked Elon, Saturday, at Rhodes Stadium. Williams carried the ball seven times for 38 yards and added 88 yards on five kickoff returns.  The Wildcat offense made just two forays into Phoenix territory, both times in the fourth quarter.

San Diego def. Azusa Pacific, 24-12
GLENDORA, Calif. – San Diego needed just 291 yards of total offense to post a 24-12 victory against Azusa Pacific, Saturday, at Citrus Stadium where an APU record 5,124 attended the contest. The Torero defense proved especially stingy on the ground, permitting just 12 yards on 23 rush attempts and allowed just 208 yards total offense. Fifth-year senior JT Rogan returned to the field after missing the 2008 campaign and scored the game's first touchdown – a two-yard burst in the second quarter.
