ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A league-record 299 student-athletes from nine member institutions were named to the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2003 semester.
Pioneer Football League athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll three years ago as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
Five of the PFL’s member schools posted three-year bests, including the University of Dayton, which placed a league-high 49 members, and Drake University which had the second-most with 39 student-athletes. Other league members posting three-year highs were Austin Peay State University, Jacksonville University and Morehead State University
