ST. LOUIS and JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Pioneer Football League (PFL) and Jacksonville University jointly announce the Jacksonville University football team will not be eligible for the 2014 conference championship and, consequently, will be removed from consideration for all NCAA FCS postseason play, including as the automatic qualifier to the 2014 NCAA Division I Football Championship and as a possible ‘at-large’ selection.

Jacksonville voluntarily withdrew from championship contention and postseason play for 2014 as a result of its internal review of compliance matters regarding the PFL’s financial aid rules. Jacksonville University’s independent audit was conducted in response to a conference survey which revealed a number of financial aid inconsistencies.

The process is ongoing and final resolution of the matter is not expected before Spring 2015. The league office will have no further comment until the matter is completed.
