Pioneer Football League Presents 20th Annual All-PFL Squads

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

SAINT LOUIS, Mo.  – Sixty student-athletes have been named to the 20th edition of the All-Pioneer Football League squads. All selections were made by the league’s coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

There were three unanimous selections to the 2012 All-PFL First Team. Marist had two players selected unanimously – senior wide receiver Mike Rios and senior defensive lineman Terrence Fede. Butler senior linebacker Jordan Ridley also was a unanimous first-team choice.

In addition, Ridley is one of two players – along with Drake senior linebacker Tyler Moorehead – who join an elite list to receive First-Team All-PFL honors three times during their careers. They become only the 40th and 41st players in league history to accomplish that feat.

Nine of the league’s 10 members had at least one First-Team All-PFL selection. Butler and San Diego had six first-team selections each while five members, including Drake, had three each.

San Diego had 12 total members named to the league’s two squads. Drake had 10 selections and Jacksonville had nine.

In addition to the 30-man first and second teams, a list of 56 players received honorable mention honors.

The Academic All-PFL team will be released Wednesday, concluding the league’s awards week.
