ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Pioneer Football League’s head coaches named 65 student-athletes, including seven unanimous selections, to the league’s 28th All-Pioneer Football League Teams, Tuesday. In addition to the 65 student-athletes recognized on the league’s first and second teams, 44 student-athletes received honorable mention recognition.

The 28th All-PFL Teams follow the announcement of the league’s Major Award Winners, Monday. The league names its 28th Academic All-PFL team and its Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Wednesday, concluding the league’s awards week.

The league’s seven unanimous All-PFL selections (coaches could not vote for their own student-athletes) were Morehead State junior defensive lineman Vaughn Taylor Jr., Morehead State wide receiver BJ Byrd, Presbyterian wide receiver Keith Pearson, Presbyterian linebacker Colby Campbell, San Diego tight end Derek Kline, San Diego defensive lineman Kevin Glajchen, and Valparaiso running back Robert Washington.

The 33-member First Team All-PFL list has a relatively new look with 18 student-athletes earning their first All-PFL recognition. Only five members of the league’s 2019 First Team All-PFL repeated the award in 2020-21: Taylor Jr., San Diego offensive lineman DJ Wright, and linebacker Kama Kamaka and Stetson return specialist Jaylon Johnson. One second-team honoree and sevenhonorable mention selections from the 2019 All-PFL list were elevated to First Team All-PFL status this season.

Valparaiso freshman defensive back Keyon Turner was the lone freshman recognized with First Team All-PFL honors in 2020-21 with five freshman named Second Team All-PFL. The league’s coaches recognized 15 sophomores – seven First Team and eight Second Team –on the All-PFL teams.
