CHICAGO – San Diego wide receiver Michael Bandy was tapped as a First-Team STATS FCS Preseason All-American, Tuesday, leading a trio of PFL athletes named to the preseason squads.

Joining Bandy on the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Teams were Dayton tight end Adam Trautman and Drake defensive back Will Warner, who were each third-team selections.

Bandy set a PFL record with 1,698 receiving yards last season, breaking a 15-year-old record and leading all FCS receivers in 2018. His receiving yards total was also a San Diego record was his 324 receiving yards in a victory against Davidson (Nov. 10, 2018). Bandy averaged 141.5 receiving yards per game to rank 10th-best all-time, earning consensus All-America honors

Last season, Trautman had team bests with 41 receptions for 604 yards and nine touchdowns, and a career-best 14.7 yards per catch average. He has started the last 29 games for Dayton at tight end. The last Flyer offensive player to be named an All-American was tight end Matt Champa in 2007.

Warner led the PFL and ranked second among FCS defenders with eight interceptions in 2018. He was named Drake’s first first-team All-American since Eric Saubert in 2015 and the Bulldogs’ first Associated Press first-team All-American since 1982. Warner was part of a defensive unit that ranked in the top 15 nationally in nearly every defensive statistical category.
