Four PFL Student-Athletes Named to Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Four Pioneer Football League student-athletes were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Teams, Monday, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Dayton running back Tucker Yinger and Drake offensive lineman Jacob Bacon were each recognized as First Team Academic All-America® honorees. In addition, Butler running back Brad Sznajder and Dayton defensive back David Leisring were Second Team Academic All-America® choices.  Yinger and Leisring were two of three selections to earn Academic All-America honors three times during their career. 

Yinger, the 2018 PFL Scholar-Athlete of the Year, has a 3.81 grade-point average while completing work on his degree in mechanical engineering. Bacon is carrying a 3.94 grade-point average as a junior majoring in actuarial science and finance. Sznajder is completing work toward his bachelor's degree in finance and entered his senior year with a 3.89 grade-point average. Leisring also is finishing his bachelor's degree in finance with a 3.74 grade-point average.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Football Team featured 17 members with a 4.0 GPA and 34 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes. The 26 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.95.
