MOREHEAD STATE 34, DAYTON 28
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Lawson Page found Christian Robinson for a 55-yard touchdown strike in the final minute to lead Morehead State to a 34-28 PFL victory against Dayton, Saturday, at Jayne Stadium. It snapped Dayton's eight-game winning streak against Morehead State. The Flyers led 21-7 at halftime, but Page threw touchdowns of 52, 60, seven and 55 yards in the second half as part of a 24-of-37, 309-yard passing performance. After Page's 60-yard strike got the Eagles within two points, 28-26, Dayton drove to the Morehead State 17-yard line before turning the ball over on downs. The Eagles needed just four plays, capped by the 55-yard touchdown throw, to take the lead. Dayton drove inside the Morehead State 20-yard line on the ensuing drive but ran out of time. Dayton's Kyle Kaparos completed 13-of-23 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown and ran for another in the loss.
DRAKE 38, VALPARAISO 13
DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake scored the game's final 24 points to pull away in a 38-13 PFL victory against Valparaiso, Saturday, at Drake Stadium. Valparaiso struck first with Kyle Cartales capping the opening drive with a one-yard run. Drake responded with two touchdowns to end the first quarter as Grant Kraemer passed for one and ran for another. Cartales got the Crusaders back within a point with a touchdown midway through the second quarter, but those would be the final Valparaiso points. Kraemer completed 28-of-42 passes for 445 yards and two touchdowns to pace Drake. Cartales finished with 68 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries for the Crusaders.
CAMPBELL 49, STETSON 21
DELAND, Fla. – Campbell scored the game's first 28 points en route to a 49-21 PFL victory against Stetson, Saturday, at Spec Martin Stadium. The Camels scored 28 points in the first quarter with Daniel Smith finding the end zone on runs of 11 and 50 yards before Montel Goods added a two-yard touchdown run and Carlos Merrit tacked on a 37-yard interception return for a score before the quarter ended. Colin McGovern got the Hatters on the board early in the second quarter with a three-yard pass to Ja'Vonta Swinton. However, Campbell returned another interception for a touchdown and tacked on another offensive touchdown for a 42-7 halftime lead. Smith needed just 12 carries to amass 179 yards and score twice to lead the Camels. Stetson's Donald Parham caught nine passes for 157 yards in the loss.
SAN DIEGO 38, BUTLER 17
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San Diego scored 21 points in the second quarter to break open a close contest on the way to a 38-17 PFL victory against Butler, Saturday, at Torero Stadium. San Diego scored the game's first 10 points but Butler cut the deficit to 10-7 on a quick two-play scoring drive capped by Will Marty's 38-yard touchdown pass to Pace Temple. But Anthony Lawrence threw three touchdowns, each capping scoring drives of 70, 75 and 65 yards in the pivotal second quarter. Lawrence finished the game completing 26-of-39 passes for 367 yards and four Toreros touchdowns with Justin Priest catching and running for three scores as part of his nine receptions for 148-yard outing. Temple caught eight passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Bulldogs.
JACKSONVILLE 44, MARIST 37
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Tommy Mack intercepted a pass with 30 seconds remaining to help Jacksonville escape with a 44-37 PFL victory against Marist, Saturday, at Tenney Stadium. The contest was a wild affair with nearly 900 yards of offense, a kickoff return for a touchdown, a defensive PAT and a 36-point fourth quarter. Jacksonville enjoyed a 22-9 halftime lead thanks to Rylan Wells who ran for a touchdown and threw for another in the first half. Wells and Marist quarterback Mike White then got together for an old-fashioned shootout over the final 26 minutes. White threw all four of his touchdowns in the second half, capping four drives in which none lasted longer than seven plays or took more than 2:22 off the clock. Wells responded by running for two touchdowns, throwing for another and tacking on a two-point conversion throw. Wells finished the day with just 232 offensive yards, completing 10-of-14 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns while running for 78 yards and three scores on 12 carries. White completed 22-of-44 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns but also threw four interceptions.
