DAYTON defeats Robert Morris, 27-24

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Kicker William Will hit a 37-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter as Dayton posted a 27-24 come-from-behind victory against Robert Morris, Saturday, at Joe Walton Stadium. Robert Morris would get two more opportunities to score in the final 2:47,  but safety Danny Leach's interception – his second of the day – ended one drive and defensive end Nate Surges' sack ended the other. Dayton quarterback Alex Jeske completed 11-of-17 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown while also running for another score.

Indiana State defeats BUTLER, 52-17

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Quarterback Matt Shiltz threw for one touchdown and ran for a second but Butler fell to Indiana State, 52-17, in nonconference action, Saturday, at Memorial Stadium. Indiana State scored the game's first 24 points before Shiltz struck for a three-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Shiltz then scampered for a 75-yard touchdownto start the second half. Shiltz completed 13-of-24 passes for 114 yards and added 76 rushing yards.

James Madison defeats MOREHEAD STATE, 56-7

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Quarterback Austin Gahafer's one-yard touchdown run was Morehead State's lone score in a 56-7 nonconference loss to James Madison, Saturday, at Bridgeforth Stadium. Gahafer completed 18-of-31 passes for 173 yards, but was held to minus-10 yards rushing on seven attempts. The Dukes scored the game's first 21 points until Gahafer's score with three minutes remaining in the first half.

The Citadel defeats DAVIDSON, 69-0

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Davidson finished with just 104 offensive yards in a 69-0 nonconference loss to The Citadel, Saturday, at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Wildcats quarterback Taylor Mitchell completed 8-of-12 passes for 52 yards. Linebacker Zack Popovec led all tacklers with nine tackles, including part of a tackle for loss.

Bucknell defeats MARIST, 17-0

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Marist was held to 161 offensive yards in a 17-0 nonconference loss to Bucknell, Saturday, at Christy Mathewson-Memporial Stadium. Bucknell led just 3-0 at halftime but scored twice in the third quarter to secure the win. Marist free safety Zach Adler finished with seven tackles and an interception to pace the Red Foxes defense. Wide receiver Matt Tralli led the offense with five receptions for 59 yards.

DRAKE defeats William Jewell, 44-30

DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake held on for a wild 44-30 nonconference victory against William Jewell, Saturday, at Drake Stadium. The Bulldogs led just 13-3 at halftime, but the teams combined to score 58 points in the second half. Drake running back Conley Wilkins ran for three touchdowns on 22 carries for 110 yards, his third score putting Drake ahead 44-23 with 5:51 remaining in the contest. Drake quarterback Andy Rice amassed 286 passing yards while completing 24-of-37 passes, including a pair of touchdowns.

STETSON defeats Webber International, 42-13

DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson amassed 472 offensive yards and set a program scoring record in a 42-13 victory against Webber International, Saturday, at Spec Martin Stadium. Running back Cole Mazza rushed for the game's first three touchdowns and finished the game with 21 carries for 99 yards. Ryan Tentler completed 23-of-33 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown.

San Diego State defeats SAN DIEGO, 37-3

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San Diego could not overcome a five-interception day in a 37-3 nonconference loss to San Diego State, Saturday, at Qualcomm Stadium. The Torerros saw three players throw a pass in the contest and each threw at least one interception. Quarterback Anthony Lawrence completed 9-of-14 passes for 71 yards to pace the San Diego offense.
