CHICAGO – Stetson freshman Jareem Westcott was one of nine freshmen added to the STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award Watch List, Thursday, which is presented to the FCS freshman player of the year.

The Augustine, Florida product has amassed 509 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in the first seven games of his career. He made a splash last week, rushing for 213 yards and five touchdowns to earn PFL Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Westcott set program records for rushing yards and touchdowns in the win. In addition, his 30 points scored were the most in a game by a player from the Pioneer Football since the 2013 season and it was just the eighth time in league history for a player to score 30 points in a game.

The Jerry Rice Award Watch List grew to 24 members with Thursday's addition of nine freshmen. Dayton quarterback Jack Cook was among the players named to the initial Jerry Rice Award Watch List.
